At the 2026 JCI European Conference in Málaga, one message echoed across every stage, panel, and networking space: the future belongs to those who collaborate.
Under the theme “Connecting Minds, Creating Futures,” the conference transformed Málaga into a vibrant hub where young leaders, corporate innovators, international institutions, entrepreneurs, and civil society organizations came together to exchange ideas, challenge perspectives, and co-create solutions for a rapidly changing world.
What made this year’s conference especially powerful was not only the diversity of participants, but the caliber of partners who actively invested their expertise, time, and leadership into the experience. From the International Chamber of Commerce and RELX to SIXT, the Project Management Institute, AIESEC International, Ban Ki-moon Foundation, the United Nations Youth Office, the Ayuntamiento de Málaga, and others, the conference demonstrated that meaningful impact happens when sectors work together rather than apart.
Leadership Meets Global Vision

The collaborative spirit was visible from the very beginning. During the Opening Ceremony, delegates were welcomed by the Mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, alongside Dr. Felipe Paullier Olivera, United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs. Their participation highlighted an important reality: young leaders today are no longer operating on the sidelines of global conversations. They are helping shape them.
Dr. Paullier later joined a dedicated session exploring the role and impact of the United Nations Youth Office, offering delegates an inside look into how the UN is advancing meaningful youth participation through initiatives such as the Youth2030 Strategy and the Pact for the Future.
More Than Speakers: Partners Sharing Real-World Expertise
Throughout the conference, partner-led sessions gave delegates direct access to professionals and organizations actively shaping industries, policies, and global movements.
Global mobility leader SIXT brought the fast-moving world of international business expansion to the stage through the session “Fast Lane to Success: What It Takes to Scale Across Borders.” Robert Matic, Senior Director of Global Accounts & Partnerships at SIXT, shared practical insights on global expansion, strategic partnerships, and maintaining brand consistency across markets.

Global information and analytics company RELX challenged delegates to rethink sustainability through innovation and data during “Connected for Impact: Scaling Sustainability with Data and Partnerships.” Mirième Hill, Senior Corporate Responsibility Project Manager at RELX, showcased how organizations can transform data and partnerships into scalable solutions with measurable impact across industries such as climate, aviation, legal services, and energy.
The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) brought a global business perspective to the conference through multiple engagements, including “The Strategic Future of Global Business.” Julian Kassum, Deputy Secretary General of the International Chamber of Commerce, explored how digital transformation, sustainability, and geopolitical shifts are redefining global commerce and entrepreneurship.
The Project Management Institute (PMI) helped participants connect leadership with execution through sessions focused on modern project management, AI integration, and sustainable thinking. Stephanie Deambrosis, Partner Engagement Manager Europe at the Project Management Institute, emphasized that impactful leadership today is not only about delivering projects, but about creating long-term, sustainable value through innovation and collaboration.
The Ban Ki-moon Foundation, represented by CEO Monika Froehler, inspired delegates with conversations centered on ethical leadership, advocacy, and the importance of integrating the Sustainable Development Goals into professional and personal journeys.
AIESEC International reinforced the importance of youth-driven collaboration through sessions exploring leadership beyond boundaries and the power of international ecosystems. Aleyna Sayin, Global President of AIESEC International, highlighted how cross-organizational partnerships and cultural exchange experiences are shaping a new generation of globally minded leaders capable of driving meaningful local impact.

The Partnership Summit: Connecting Minds, Creating the Future
One of the defining moments of the conference was the Partnership Summit: Connecting Minds, Creating the Future, which brought together leaders from UN Youth, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), AIESEC International, SIXT, and RELX for a high-level collaborative dialogue.

The discussion explored how partnerships across business, diplomacy, education, and civil society are essential for tackling today’s most complex challenges. Rather than focusing solely on theory, the summit emphasized practical collaboration: how organizations can combine expertise, networks, and resources to create sustainable local and global impact.
For delegates in the room, the message was both inspiring and empowering: leadership today is no longer about individual success alone. It is about building bridges, creating ecosystems, and working collectively toward solutions that last.
Building Futures Together
The JCI European Conference in Málaga showcased the power of bringing together diverse perspectives, experiences, and expertise under one shared vision. Through meaningful dialogue, dynamic collaboration, and cross-sector engagement, the conference created a space where ideas turned into opportunities and connections evolved into lasting partnerships.
More than a gathering of young leaders and organizations, the event reflected a growing global movement centered on collaboration, innovation, and collective impact. From thought-provoking sessions to inspiring conversations, delegates left Málaga with fresh perspectives, stronger networks, and renewed motivation to create positive change within their communities and beyond.
