Unlocking New Pathways for Youth Impact

JCI leadership has just concluded a pivotal week in New York, holding a series of high-level meetings designed to strengthen multilateral cooperation and open new pathways for youth impact in 2026. For the JCI Partnerships Department, this mission was more than just representation; it was building the infrastructure for impact. These high-level engagements unlock three critical assets for our network.

Partnership, Collaboration, and Opportunity.

1. Partnership: Elevating the Youth Voice

True partnership provides access to decision-makers. At the heart of the visit was a powerful dialogue with the UN Youth Office, where JCI President Alejandra Cardenas and the delegation met with Dr. Felipe Paullier, Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs, and Partnership Lead Matthew Hunter.

This engagement ensures that JCI is viewed not just as an observer, but as a key implementation partner. By aligning our visions, we are securing a direct pipeline for JCI initiatives to be recognized and supported at the highest levels of international governance.

2. Collaboration: Bridging Sectors for Impact

Collaboration is about finding shared value across different sectors.

  • Multilateral Cooperation: The delegation met with Birgitte Bryld, Chief of the NGO Branch at the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA). This meeting reinforced JCI’s renewed focus on working within the UN system to amplify our influence.

  • Sustainability & Science: We connected with the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) leadership, Emma Torres (VP of the Americas) and Isabella Leite Lucas (Science Panel for the Amazon) to discuss how to bridge sustainability with strategic action.

  • Diplomacy: The tour concluded with a warm exchange at the Turkish Consulate with Deputy Consul General Kemal Yüksektepe, fostering essential diplomatic ties.

3. Opportunity: Transforming Dialogue into Action

The ultimate goal of these alliances is to create tangible opportunities for our members. The momentum built in New York has confirmed JCI’s active participation in two major upcoming milestones:

  • CSW70 (March): The 70th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women.

  • ECOSOC Youth Forum (April): The premier platform for youth to engage with Member States.

These platforms will serve as critical stepping stones, allowing us to represent our network’s voice on the global stage.

Our Shared Vision

Our aim is clear: to move beyond conversation and into concrete action. By leveraging these strategic partnerships, we are ensuring that our members are not just observers of history, but active architects of a sustainable future.
